11/2007: Brian Everett becomes a Partner in OPC, Inc.

Brian Everett
Brian is OPC’s Eagle Scout. Not literally, but figuratively. I’m sure that he has taken the Scout Oath and I know he lives by the Scout Law. A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, reverent and much more. Besides being a great guy, Brian brings a wealth of knowledge to our firm. Before joining OPC in 2001, Brian was with the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works. Armed with a Master’s Degree in Economics, he rose through the ranks at the County. For eleven years he brought insight and oversight responsibility for all real estate acquisitions, excess property disposition and property management.

As Regional Director for OPC, Brian is responsible for the management, scheduling and fiscal responsibilities of OPC’s Southern California operations in the Long Beach, Irvine, Palm Desert, Riverside and San Diego offices. He is ultimately responsible for planning, managing and implementing clients’ programs under federal, state and local guidelines.

Brian is really good at his job, but he is an even better father, husband and son. He lives in Long Beach with his lovely wife Maribel, his beautiful sixteen month old daughter, Mia and, if you can believe it, his in-laws. Brian is the ultimate family man and has become a respected part of the Overland, Pacific & Cutler Family. Welcome Brian.

07/2007: Barry McDaniel testifies before the CA Senate
Barry McDaniel, CEO of OPC, was asked by the executive directors of the California Redevelopment Association and the California League of Cities to appear before the California Senate’s Local Government Committee in support of California Assembly Bill 887 sponsored by Assemblyman Hector De La Torre of South Gate.

On July 11, Barry, along with Anne Moore, Executive Director of the City of Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Association, testified in support of AB 887. This bill is tied with ACA 8, a constitutional amendment excluding owner-occupied single-family homes, condominiums, town homes and duplexes from an agency’s powers of eminent domain.

06/2007: New Riverside, CA Office
OPC opens an office in Riverside, CA to respond to the ever-increasing needs of our Inland Empire clientele. Under the direction of Joey Mendoza, a seasoned OPC manager, we now provide local presence to a variety of clients in one of the fastest-growing urban areas of the country.

05/2007: New Utilities Division
Overland, Pacific & Cutler has added a Utilities & Right of Way Engineering Division. Mr. Fred Clark brings a wealth of experience to OPC, enabling us to offer a range of right of way services to our diversified clients. Mr. Clark has extensive experience in utility coordination, negotiation and right of way engineering, which enables us to identify innovative and cost effective design solutions. Working closely with agencies and developers, OPC is providing easement and property rights experts that have the ability to provide legal descriptions, right of way plans and profile drawings.
