Ceci Melanson To Speak at the CRA Redevelopment Institute |

On May 8 and 9, 2008, Ceci will be a trainer at this course with other trainers from Golfarb & Lipman at the Crowne Plaza Anaheim Resort in Garden Grove. This course is on Redevelopment Law and is put on every year by the California Redevelopment Institute. The Institute will publish an announcement that will be distributed at the 2008 California Redevelopment Association Annual Conference in March, 2008. |

Brian Everett To Speak at the CLE Eminent Domain Institute |

Brian will be an instructor at the 10th Annual Eminent Domain Conference on May 1 and 2, 2008 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. This two day conference includes appraisers, attorneys and real estate professionals. This faculty will be discussing case law, loss of business goodwill, legislation, valuation, ethics and more. |

We Were Relaxed. It’s Only Business Relocation... |
In late February and early March, OPC hosted a series of very successful seminars on Business Relocation. We had great audiences in Los Angeles, San Diego, Oakland and Sacramento. Mark La Bonte, SR/WA, Jerry Colburn, R/W-RAC and Rich Hodges, ASA from DM&A spoke in all four cities. They were joined by Michele Folk, SR/WA, Vince McCaw and David Richman, R/W-RAC in their locales.
These sessions were designed for developers, engineers and public agency staff involved in projects with retail, commercial or industrial relocations. The OPC and DM&A facilitators covered rules and regulations, state and federal guidelines, advisory and monetary assistance, fixtures and equipment, complex commercial and industrial moves, pitfalls and innovative solutions, loss of business good will and limiting agency exposure to goodwill claims. |
