NAC acquired and redeveloped a former office complex located on Virginia Street in downtown Phoenix to create affordable housing. They financed the project with Low Income Housing Tax Credits and HOME funds through the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) and the City of Phoenix, respectively. OPC provided business relocation cost estimating services to NAC for their Low-Income Housing Tax Credit and HOME applications. Upon notification of their awards, NAC retained OPC to provide relocation services to eight displaced businesses, including medical and law practices.
The outcome of the project, Cedar Crossing, is minutes away from the Encanto Light Rail Station in Central Phoenix, close to jobs, shopping, and the best cultural, art and dining hot-spots in the valley. Cedar Crossing’s 74 affordable apartments consist of studio, one, two and three bedroom layouts.
