OPC provided right of way services for the Edison Way Flood Project, including real property acquisition and negotiations for advanced acquisitions, through negotiated settlements on various parcels impacted and identified through preliminary design. OPC was also retained to provide relocation services for approximately 45 commercial business tenants.
The project was completed in cooperation with the cities of Reno and Sparks, Washoe County, and the US Army Corps of Engineers in an effort to control flooding and restore ecosystems along the Truckee River. The mission was to reduce the impact of flooding in the Truckee Meadows. Every 5-10 years, the Truckee River overflows its banks causing tremendous damage to residents, businesses, and infrastructure.
